Abstract
1428218 Measuring pitch electrically KERNFORSCHUNG mbH GES FUR 4 June 1973 [2 June 1972] 26504/73 Heading G1N Apparatus for measuring the pitch of a rib 3 Fig. 4, on a rod 1 comprises two sensors A, B with spring-loaded feelers 20 which are assembled in contact with the rod surface at a fixed axial distance apart, and angularly displaced by the nominal pitch, so that when the rod is rotated each sensor notes the passage of the rib 3 by a pulse output, the time interval between the pulses being proportional to the pitch deviations. The amplified pulses A o , B o Fig. 1 are given equal delays at 6, 7 and fed as A v , B v to units 8, 9 together with a sawtooth voltage from generator 10 triggered by pulse A o . The instantaneous values U A , U B of the sawtooth voltage corresponding to the delayed pulses A v , B v are fed to a differential amplifier 11 whose output is proportional to the pitch deviation along the sensed surface of the rod 1. The rod is moved axially at a constant speed and the pitch deviation signal integrated at 12 to determine the total angular deviation of the rib along the rod.
