Abstract

142,799. Languepin, J. E. May 2, 1919, [Convention date]. Turning-gear.-In engines provided with electric or other power starting apparatus, the carburettor is automatically flooded at starting by means of an electro-magnet dependent upon or controlled by either the operation of the electric starting motor or the supply of electricity for the electric starting apparatus, or by an independent supply of electricity controlled by the operation of starting apparatus other than electric. To produce flooding, the float in the chamber 1 is depressed by a rod 2 attached to a core 3 of an electro-magnet 4. In a modification, in which the float has to be raised to produce flooding, the core 3 is connected to the float through a lever of the first order. The electro-magnet may be in series or in parallel with the electric starting motor or the supply of electricity.
