Abstract

1427255 Stranding machines DIOSGYORI GEPGYAR 9 May 1973 [18 May 1972] 22054/ 73 Heading D1T A stranding apparatus having at least three independently operating units, each unit comprising a plurality of assemblies including a driving motor 1, a rotor 2 carrying a supply bobbin for the strands, a driving gear 5 and a driving connection 3 between the gear 5 and rotor 2 is characterised in that the apparatus has a compartmented frame 8, some adjacent compartments of which are disposed at two or more levels, and in that an assembly of each unit is disposed in a respective one of said adjacent compartments. In the particular embodiment a rotor 2 is housed in each compartment. The compartments have operable and conveniently transparent covers 10. A drawing-off device 6 and a reeling device 7 are provided independently for each unit. Fig. 3 shows, in cross-section, a frame housing three stranding units, one at an upper level and two at a lower level. An air receiver 9 providing air required for controlling the operation of the units and equipped conveniently with a compressor (not shown) is also provided as an independent assembly.
