Abstract

1426467 Dispensing gases in liquids COSTER TECNOLOGIE SPECIALI SpA 1 Aug 1973 [11 Aug 1972] 36637/73 Heading B1C [Also in Division B8] Aerosol containers are filled with a mixture of fluent material and propellant gas under pressure. The mixture is produced by pumping the fluent material via pump 9 through conduits 7 and 6 into a pressure vessel 1. Simultaneously pressurized propellant gas is supplied via conduit 12 to the vessel 1 wherein conduit 12 is situated concentrically inside conduit 6 to provide a counter flow of propellant gas and fluent material. This mixture now passes through a series of perforated plates 5 and 11 which facilitate the dissolution of the gas into the fluent material, and collects in the bottom of the vessel 3. Pressurized propellant gas in the upperhalf of the vessel 1 ensures that the gas dissolved in the mixture remains in solution. A feed back circuit consisting of a pump 10 and conduit 8 further enhances the mixing process and a draw off pipe 15 is provided to transport the pressurized mixture to the aerosol filling station. The lower half of the vessel 1 is surrounded by a jacket 2 through which coolant may pass.
