Abstract

142,604. Evans, J. A. J. March 15, 1919. Bodies. - Relates to a combined chassis and body frame for a motor-vehicle. The frame is built of longitudinal girders 2 fitted with bracing wires 8 and connected by end members 6 and intermediate members 11. The engine and gearing are fitted to longitudinal members 12. The frame may be tubular as shown, or made of angle iron reinforced with wood or the like, and is preferably provided with an outer cover of sheet metal &c. In a modified construction, each girder has an upper and lower section, the upper section having a door aperture.
