Abstract
1425902 Photographic material FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 15 May 1973 [15 May 1972] 23177/73 Heading G2C An image-receiving material for the silver salt diffusion transfer process is made by (a) hydrolyzing at least the surface stratum of a layer of a hydrolyzable organic polymer, and simultaneously or thereafter (b) contacting the stratum with a liquid containing dispersed physical development nuclei and comprising (other than glycerin) at least one polyol compound having 2-54 carbon atoms and at least 2 hydroxyl group or a compound which is hydrolyzed to said polyol, to deposit the physical development nuclei in the hydrolyzed stratum. Preferably the nuclei are applied in a 3-30% aqueous solution of a polyalkylene glycol, alkane diol, cyclic diol, an ethylene glycol ether or acetate, an ethylene oxide/octyl alcohol condensate, an acylic or cyclic triol, trio (hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate, a saccharide, gluconic acid or a watersoluble salt thereof, polyglycerin, an alkali-metal glycerophosphate or an ether or ester of a triol or polyglycerin. The hydrolyzable polymer is preferably a cellulose ester but may be a polyvinyl ester or acetal.
