Abstract
1424708 Magnetic coating FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 16 May 1973 [16 May 1972] 23423/73 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions G2 and G3] A magnetic layer is formed on a photographic film by applying a suspension of ferromagnetic powder to the backing layer of a polyethylene terephthalate support, the liquid content of the suspension being at least 70% by weight methyl ethyl ketone. The liquid may also comprise an alcohol (1-4C), ester ether, glycol ether, glycol acetate, an aromatic hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon. The backing layer preferably comprises a cellulose ester e.g. cellulose acetate and a polyester e.g. a condensate of ethylene glycol, trimethylene glycol and terephthalic acid.
