Abstract

1424508 Endless conveyers LOEWS THEATRES Inc 11 April 1974 [12 April 1973] 16191/74 Heading B8A Cut tobacco is fed to a bank of suction tubes 30 by an endless belt 12 carrying pins 14 and excess tobacco is pushed by the pins 14 along a plate 32 substantially co-extensive with, and uniformly spaced from, the return run of the belt. The ends of the plate 32 carry arcuate portions 36, 38 flared at 40, 42. A doffer 26 comprising pins 28 is rotated to level the tobacco carried to the tubes 30. A delivery belt 10 forms the bottom of a hopper and carries tobacco to the belt 12, the belt 10 being advanced when a photocell indicates that the supply of tobacco lying between the belts 10, 12 has diminished.
