Centre punches.-A centring-device for shafts and the like comprises a quadrilateral frame of equal links a pivoted together by pins b adapted to slide in perpendicular slots e of a cruciform member c having a central aperture for a centre punch d. The tool is placed over the end of a shaft, and the links a pressed against the shaft, the centre punch then registering the centre. One of the slots e may be dispensed with, leaving one of the pivots b free.
