Abstract

1423531 Terminal blocks WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 9 April 1973 [18 April 1972] 16827/73 Heading H2E A terminal structure comprises a conductive block having a front 90, a rear and two ends, two conductor receiving openings 87, 88 extending parallel into the block from one towards the other of said ends and spaced apart in a front to rear direction, two connector receiving openings 89 with connectors 85, 86 each extending from the front of the block and communicating with an opening 87 or 88, the opening 89 which communicates with opening 88, which is nearer the rear being nearer said other end than the other opening 89, and the longitudinal axes of openings 87, 88 being located in a front to rear direction on opposite sides of a plane parallel to them. Said one end is stepped such that the difference of the proximity of portions 100 and 102 to side 94 equals the displacement of one cavity 89 with respect to the other. Step portion 92 has holes for mounting bolts. Another embodiment (Figs. 4 and 7, not shown) has a third conductor receiving cavity in the set back portion 100. A third embodiment (Figs. 8 to 10, not shown) has a fourth conductor receiving cavity in portion 102 and communicating with a connector receiving cavity. Connectors are included in a circuit breaker (Fig. 1, not shown), much of which is described.
