Abstract

1423267 Portable containers; bags; plugs and bushes R J WEIKERT 18 June 1973 [20 June 1972] 28897/73 Headings B8D B8K and B8T An inlet/outlet assembly of a flexible bag or container liner 12 consists of a moulded flanged bush 18 and a collar 20 which have complementary axially-projecting beads 48, 50, 76 and 78 and under-cut sloping latching surfaces 42, 79, 60, 77, 68 and 80 acting to clamp the bag therebetween, and a plug closure 22 comprising an annular wall 88 sealingly-fitting into the bush bore, an inwardly-domed centre portion 92, and a depending flange 94 having a groove 96 receiving a bush projection 74. The portion 92 acts to urge the annular wall into tighter engagement with the bush bore if the pressure in the bag increases. The internal diameter of the collar is less than the external diameter of the bush so that the collar is stressed when in position on the bush. The collar is provided with spaced flanges 82 and 83 to enable attachment and retention of the assembly in a key-hole shaped slot in the wall of a rigid outer container or box (not shown).
