Abstract
1422404 Projectiles MESSERSCHMITTBOLKOW-BLOHM GmbH 29 March 1973 [10 May 1972] 15230/73 Heading F3A An infantry projectile 1 for action against tanks comprises an inclined surface 5 for tilting or retaining the trim angle a of the projectile, thereby flattening its trajectory and rendering unnecessary adjustments to the sighting device of a weapon 8 in accordance with the range of the target. The projectile is rotationally symmetrical and is stabilized by a cylindrical tail 2. A V-shaped under-surface (7), Fig. 2 (not shown), prevents rotation of the projectile and can also act as a trimming surface. The surface 5 is provided on an elongation 4 carrying a detonator, or defines the front face of the projectile (Fig. 3, not shown). The projectile can be launched from the weapon at its trim angle a by using separable means 9 and 10.
