Abstract
1422353 Vehicle washing D C HANNA 5 April 1973 [28 June 1972] 16454/73 Heading B7J A vehicle washing plant comprises module frames 11-19 supported on legs 22 forming an elongate overhead tunnel under which a vehicle may be driven or moved by a conveyer, the left-hand vehicle wheels being located between floor mounted guides 118, a concrete roof 26 and side walls 96 complete the structure and washing components of the plant are supported from the frames. These components consist of a hot air blower which blows a curtain of hot air across the entrance on the left-hand side of the structure, side window brushes 64, 65, wraparound brushes 62, 63 having arms 124, 126 movable about vertical pivots 128, a friction scrubber 66, slit curtains 70, a counterweighted top brush 72, a rinsing sprayer 80, an air dryer 86 and a hot air blower 90 which draws air through the structure from the left-hand end through a heat exchanger in a boiler vent 94 and forms a curtain at the exit from the structure. An hydraulic pump supplies power to the brushes 72, 62-64 and scrubber 66. Sill brushes (110), 112 and wheel washers 114, 116 may be provided.
