Abstract
1422017 Electrostatic separators ELITEXZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 24 April 1973 [26 April 1972] 19465/73 Heading B2J [Also in Division D1] Negatively charged dirt particles are separated from fibres in an open end spinning unit comprising a fibre opener 3, an arcuate passage extending between a fibre opening zone and a fibre doffing zone, and a dirt collecting chamber 18 which contains a positively charged electrode 20 and which has a dirt inlet between the fibre opening and doffing zones. There is electrical means to apply a negative charge to dirt in the fibres, e.g. a negative pole connected to an opening cylinder in the opener or a negative spike electrode in an ionising chamber for air being sucked into the opening device.
