Abstract

1421346 Moulding a fibrous article AGK INDUSTRIES Inc 15 Dec 1972 [20 Dec 1971] 58019/72 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions D1-D2] A fibreglass mat is impregnated by particles of thermosetting resin disposed in an air stream (Divisions D1-D2) and hot-pressed in a mould or in a drum mould where a continuous process is required. The aluminium mould shown comprises an upper portion 52 hingedly attached to lower portion 50. The mould contains electric heaters or conduits 54 for carrying a heating fluid. A mat impregnated with a phenolic resin is heated to 400‹ F. for 20 seconds to cure the resin.
