Abstract

1351251 Moulding a plastics foam laminate GRILLO-WERKE AG 19 April 1971 [28 Jan 1970] 20002/71 Heading B5A A laminate comprises a plastics foam 1 compression coated with a plastics layer 3, the foam having been heated prior to compression-coating on a closed mould to a temperature that is equal to or greater than the maximum temperature used in the compression coating but which does not exceed 120‹ C. Compression coating is defined as being a process in which a core member is introduced into a mould and the plastics material used to form the coating is moulded under pressure around the core member. The plastics foam is advantageously rigid and is preferably a polyurethane foam. The coating material is preferably a glass fibre reinforced unsaturated polyester resin.
