Abstract
1421002 Valves BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE AG 9 Feb 1973 [10 Feb 1972] 6587/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] A thermostatically controlled valve comprises a housing 40; disc valve members 16 and 17; an expansion member 18 directly connected to the disc valve member 16 and having a piston rod 18<SP>1</SP> bearing on the housing 40 by way of an arm 41 and a valve seat 42; and an expansion member 38, a piston-rod 38<SP>1</SP> of which bears on a connecting arm 47 which is secured to the disc valve member 16 and serves, with the interposition of a supporting ring 48, as an abutment for a helical compression spring 49 which influences the disc valve member 17 in the closing direction. Bearing on a supporting arm 43 which is secured on the housing 40 by means of the valve seat 42, is a cylindrical closing spring 44 which acts on the disc valve member in the closing direction. This supporting arm 43 carries a pair of centring plates 45 for the element 18 and a central guide bore 46 for the element 38. Secured to the valve member 17 is a traction arm 50 which surrounds the expansion element 38, and sliding thereon, abuts on an abutment 51 constructed as an annular shoulder
