Abstract

1430734 Hot gas engines UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT OF 14 Jan 1974 [30 Jan 1973] 30109/75 Divided out of 1430731 Heading F1S A hot gas engine 10 comprises a displacer piston 11 the end portions of which respectively extend into a hot chamber and a cold chamber and a flexure support 25 for the displacer piston located at the hot end of the displacer piston, the flexure support operating to allow the displacer piston to move longitudinally while restricting lateral motion. The flexure support is in the form of a leaf-spring with the centre portion of the leaf-spring attached to the cylinder. The engines described also form the subject of the parent Specification 1430731 and the Divisional Specifications 1430732 and 1430733 which are referred to.
