1464610 I C engine pre-combustion chambers KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AG 11 Sept 1974 [17 Nov 1973] 39656/74 Heading F1B An I.C. engine comprises a pre-combustion chamber 2 in the cylinder head 1 connected to the space enclosed by the cylinder by an insert 3 which partly overlaps a sealing ring 6, either the insert or the sealing ring being recessed in the region of the overlap so that they interengage, the insert being retained by the compression of the sealing ring between the cylinder and the cylinder head and prevented from rotating by the interengagement. The interengagement is effected by a lug on one part engaging the recess on the other part. Heat insulation is provided by a gap 4.
