Abstract
1420829 Electro-erosion INDUSTRIELLE ELEKTRONIK AGIE LOSONE b LOCARNO AG FUR 30 March 1973 [6 April 1972] 15505/73 Heading B3V [Also in Division C7] In a method of electrical discharge or electrochemical machining a workpiece, the workpiece is moved along a circulatory path transverse to the direction in which the electrode is advanced into the workpiece the radius of curvature of the path being varied during the motion of the workpiece. In one embodiment, a housing 10 supports four shafts 101-104 driven by a motor 105 via gear-wheels 108-111 and a belt 112. Mounted fast on the driven shaft 101 is a gear-wheel 113 which is connected by a belt 117 to gear-wheels 114-116 rotatably mounted on the shafts 102- 104 and to gear-wheels 118 rotatably mounted on a movable plate 119. A ring 121 is eccentrically mounted on each of two of the shafts 103, 104 and seated by a bearing 137 in a plate 11 on which the workpiece is mounted. The plate 11 is seated by adjustable plates (32) (Fig. 5, not shown) or balls (30) in the housing. After coarse machining of the workpiece has been completed, the workpiece is finish machined by moving the table 11 in a circular path by moving the plate 119 to cause the gear-wheels 114- 116 to rotate relative to their respective shafts 102-104. The eccentric rings 121 are thereby rotated via rods 138<SP>1</SP> to rotate the table 11 in a circular path. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the plate 119 is moved by the drive motor (150) whose drive shaft (151) is in frictional engagement with a bushing (152) movable between stops (154, 155, 159) and having a gear-wheel (156) connected by a belt (157) to the plate 119. In a further embodiment (Fig. 7, not shown) the workpiece is mounted on a cross table whose tables are so controlled as to produce a circular or elliptical motion of the workpiece.
