Abstract
1420273 Mould for joining electric cables ERICO PRODUCTS Inc 27 July 1973 35911/73 Heading B3F A graphite mould for use in joining electrical cables 34, 36 and 38 has a vertical sprue opening 12 formed along the parting plane of the mould parts and provided with a refractory sleeve 30. The sleeve 30 is supported by a shoulder 32 in the opening 12 and may be made of fire clay, kaolin, fusion cast or sintered high alumina materials, coarse sand or silicas, fired or cast magnesias, zircon or silicon carbide. Molten metal is supplied from a crucible 26, the sleeve 30 preventing premature solidification of the metal in the sprue 12.
