Abstract

1419930 Container/launcher tube for rockets; rocket launcher SNIA VISCOSA SOC NAZIONALE INDUSTRIA APPLICAZIONI VISCOSA SpA 3 May 1974 [21 May 1973] 19520/74 Headings F3A and F3C A container/launcher tube for rockets, comprises: a fibre-glass tube closed at its forward end by a cap that is adapted to break into predetermined fragments when struck by the nose of the rocket; a plug 15<SP>1</SP> closing the rear of the tube and removable at the moment of preparation of the rocket for launching; and leaf springs 11 urging pins 10 into a circumferential groove 14 in the wall of the rocket motor to releasably secure the rocket in the tube. A cable 17 for setting the warhead of the rocket passes through an inner cap 15 that is adapted to be destroyed by the propellant gases from the rocket motor. The container/launcher tube is adapted to be inserted in a rocket launcher.
