Abstract
1419711 Controlling compressors A V BYKOV V S SCHERBAKOV and L A SUDARKIN 2 Jan 1973 282/73 Heading F1N A reciprocating compressor has an annular inlet valve 6 which can be urged to an open position by energizing an electromagnet 10, the flux path of the electromagnet passing through the cylinder head 2, the cylinder housing 1, a discharge valve body 5 and a permanent magnet 16. The flux is concentrated at the inner and outer edges of the valve by annular pole tips 13 separated by a ring 14 of non-magnetically conductive material. The electromagnet 10 is mounted in a bore 9 in the cylinder head and is covered by a plate 11 having a threaded opening for a screw 17 adjustable to alter the effect of the permanent magnet 16.
