Abstract

141,964. Sizaire, M. H. L., and Berwick & Co., F. W. June 20, 1919. Laminar springs.-The light ends of a number of laminated springs, anchored to the chassis, are connected to the axle or its housing so as to permit vertical movement only, and prevent rotation. In one form, Fig. 1, four springs b, arranged as shown, are anchored at i, and pivoted at c to levers d which are pivoted at e to a plate f carried by the axle casing. Fig. 2 shows the position taken up on displacement under road shocks. In a modification, the heavy ends of the springs b are united to provide a U-shaped spring on each side of the axle.
