Abstract

1419518 Escape shoots DUNLOP Ltd 24 Sept 1973 [26 Sept 1972] 44513/72 Heading B7J A telescopic escape shoot has segments la normally stored in the major segment pivoted to an elevated structure, the segments being of plastics, light metal or impregnated woods with the floors of a relatively rigid material compared with the walls and roofs. The shoot when extended being either automatically or manually pivoted about an axle 7d so that the segments move relatively outwards aided by inflation of pneumatic side tubes 5 and 6. A buffer 10 may maintain the shoot at 45 degrees to the structure and the axle be located in roller 7e mounted on the major segment by brackets 7f and located at its ends in brackets 7c supported on the structure by rubber or plastics pads 7b. A platform 2 at the lower end of the shoot may be inflated with tubes 5 and 6 to provide a mooring for life-rafts 3, 4.
