Abstract

141,892. Efandem Co., Owen, W., and Cutler, F. E. April 9, 1919. Casings,- brush-holders; pole-pieces and cores.- The brush-holders E are of cylindrical form and are clamped by recessed bolts e<6>, Fig. 4, which are arranged transversely to the holders and are operated by being moved endways by means of nuts e<10>; each holder comprises a tube of insulating-material mounted in a metal ferrule against which the bolt e<6> bears. The casing B carrying the field magnet C is open at one end, around which is formed a spigot adapted to engage with corresponding spigots at opposite ends of a narrow bridge D wherein is carried one of the armature bearings b<3>, and preferably also the brush-holders E. An end cap F straddles the bridge D and engages with the spigot on the casing, and is secured to the bridge by a nut f<1>, the bridge being secured to the casing by screws. The casing B is of square box form, and the pole-pieces C are secured to its flat sides both by screws c and dowel pins c<1>.
