Abstract

1418563 Laundry machines BAKER PERKINS JAXONS LTD 28 June 1974 [11 July 1973] 32996/73 Heading D1A A moisture extraction press comprises a driven metal bottom roller 15, a metal top roller 16 with a surface layer 24 of rubber bonded to it and an inextensible belt or belts 27 contacting the upper roller at the nip, laundry articles passing between the belt(s) 27 and the lower roller. This arrangement avoids fabric damage caused by movement of the rubber layer 24 at the nip. The upper roller is journalled on two pivoted beams 17 connected by rods 19 and bridge pieces 20 to a channel member 21 which is urged downwardly by an inflatable tube 22. Delivery and discharge chutes 25 and 26 are provided.
