Abstract

1,002,355. Rollerway conveyers. WELDED & ALLIED PRODUCTS Ltd. June 10, 1963 [May 15, 1962], No. 18553/62. Heading B8A. Rollers 9 on a rollerway conveyer are adjusted for height above or below casings 1 by inflating or deflating a pair of rubber bags 4 surrounded by canvas sheaths 5 carrying inverted channels 7 on which roller spindles 9a rest. The spindles pass through slots 8 in the casings 1 which allow vertical movement but prevent axial movement of the rollers. An alternative embodiment shown in Fig. 4 has each side of the conveyer consisting of a channel member 10 carrying a smaller inverted channel member 11 on which rests the rubber bag 4 supporting a larger inverted channel member 12. Bearing blocks 13 for the roller trunnions are mounted on a bearing plate 14 secured to the larger inverted channel member 12. Lips 12a on the larger inverted channel member limit upward movement when the rubber bag 4 is inflated.
