Charging and discharging.-In a stove, oven, or the like for drying or heating tin plates or the like, in which the plates c are carried by a conveyer with frames or racks b, the plates are returned from the outlet end by means of the return run of the conveyer in conjunction with one or more subsidiary conveyers h by which their lower edges are supported, and which may consist of wire ropes. The return run of the conveyer may be heated. The plates are retained in the racks at the outlet end by a curved guard e, g which is displacable to allow delivery at the outlet end if desired.
