Abstract
798,962. Bakers' ovens; ovens. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTION GUILLAUME OOMS, SOC. ANON. Feb. 1, 1955, No. 2966/55. Class 51 (2). The baking chamber of an oven for baking food, foundry cores or moulds is subdivided by horizontal heating elements 11-20 formed with a corrugated top wall 22 along which are laid iron pipes 24, and a flat bottom wall lined with asbestos cement sheets 25. Hot gases from a furnace 3 traverse a main flue 5 and a U- shaped flue 6 straddling an inner jacket 2 and supplying the gases to the heating elements through valve-controlled ducts 26. The iron pipes 24 are said to cut down the transfer of heat by radiation and to encourage convection. Each heating element discharges through a rear outlet 28 into a waste gas flue 29 connected to the furnace 3 for recirculation of said gas. The heating elements are arranged in two tiers leaving a central opening through which passes the upright 31 of a wave carriage, said uprights supporting trays 30 in each baking compartment. The invention may also be applied to a continuous conveyer oven.
