Abstract
1417132 Turbine rotors MOTOREN-UND TURBINEN-UNION MUNCHEN GmbH 6 Nov 1972 [8 Nov 1971] 51153/72 Heading F1T A turbine rotor wheel having integral blades is provided at its rim with radial slots 6 and holes 7 extending right through the rim to define with the ends of the slots predetermined rupture points 5 for radial thermal cracks. Tubes 8 are mounted in holes 7 and cooling air passages 12 are provided around the tubes either by means of ribs 9, 10 on the latter or by means of recesses in holes 7. Each tube 8 includes an internal partition (e.g. 28 Fig. 12 (not shown)) and may include radial holes (26) to direct cooling air from the tube interior into the surrounding passages. Each tube 8 may be circular or oval and may be secured axially in its hole 7 by bent over end tabs (13) Figs. 5, 6 (not shown).
