Abstract

1417062 Endless conveyers PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Feb 1973 [2 March 1972] 9511/73 Heading B8A [Also in Division F2] A chain for transporting paper tapes comprises a plurality of U-shaped synthetic resin links 1 provided with projections 3 which accommodate transport pins 4, the links being interconnected by spacers each consisting of thickened end portions 9, 9a and a central portion 10, and on assembly the end portions 9, 9a are adapted to be received in openings 7, 7a in a flange 6 of the link 1 with clearance, whilst the central portion 10 is adapted to pass through a slit 8 in the end of flange 6. The slit 8 is wedgeshaped and has a minimum width b slightly less than that of the central portion 10 of the spacer in order to provide a locking action. The end portion 9, 9a are journalled in the openings 7, 7a and in blind holes 5 in the opposite flange 2. Alternatively the spacer may consist of two balls connected by a central portion.
