Abstract
1413337 Developing XEROX CORP 9 Nov 1972 [11 Nov 1971] 51803/72 Heading G2H In a method of developing an electrostatic latent image, toner powder moving towards the image is evenly distributed amongst the carrier particles of the developer by moving a currentcarrying conductor transversely of the direction of developer flow. As shown, in an electrophotographic apparatus, a conductive wire 34 is mounted for reciprocation parallel to the axis of a rotary magnetic brush development device 32 which receives developer from a wheel 31 having vanes 31' and mounted in the sump of the development apparatus. The wire is connected at one end to a spring 43 and at the other end to a rotary device 45 such that movement of the device 45 causes the wire to be reciprocated over a guide 44. A brush 46 supplies the wire with current from a source 47. Projections 34' may be provided to increase the surface area of the wire.
