Abstract
1413310 Cutting and registering sheets; wrapping SIG SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GESELLSCHAFT 29 Dec 1972 [31 Dec 1971] 60167/72 Headings B8R and B8C A method of superimposing two films 2 and 3 with their leading and trailing edges offset relative to one another comprises cutting the leading edges of two webs so that they are level, gripping one of the webs, 3, with a slide 16 and moving it backwards to offset the leading edges by an amount a, Fig. 3, gripping the leading edges with a clamp 5, Fig. 4, drawing off the required length of one of the films 2, moving the web 3 forwards by means of the slide 16 to form a sag 32 downstream of the cutting device 4 and simultaneously cutting the films from the webs. A further clamp 25 may be used to grip the sheet downstream of the cutter after the required length has been drawn off by the clamp 5. The foils may be used to wrap a packet of biscuits 1 (see Fig. 1, not shown).
