Abstract

1413227 Aqueous lubricants BASF WYANDOTTE CORP 20 March 1973 [20 March 1972] 13216/73 Heading C5F A concentrate dilutable with water to form an aqueous lubricant contains a fatty acid soap, a surfactant and monostearyl acid phosphate. The concentrate may contain 20-80 wt. per cent H 2 O, 0-15 wt. per cent sequestering agent, 0-30 wt. per cent anionic surfactant, 2-40 wt. per cent fatty acid soap, 0-40 wt. per cent coupling agent, 0-15 wt. per cent nonionic surfactant and 0À15 to 1À75 wt. per cent of monostearyl acid phosphate based on the weight of concentrate (including any H 2 O).' Many sequestering agents and surfactants are specified, including amino-acids, sulphonates, sulphates, polyoxyalkylenes, polyoxyalkylene ethers and esters, and condensates of amines or amides with polyoxyalkylenes. Specified coupling agents (or homogenizers) are propylene glycol, ethylene glycol and isopropanol. In a typical example, the concentrate contains water, sodium ethyllenediamine tetraacetate, propylene glycol, dodecylbenzene sulphonic acid, monoethanolamine, monostearyl acid phosphate, coconut fatty acid and oxyalkylated C 10 -C 14 alcohols.
