Abstract
1413134 Timing apparatus G CAMARDELLA 20 Oct 1972 [20 Oct 1971] 48507/72 Heading C7F Apparatus for tinning a short length of a continuous wire, e.g. of enamelled copper, comprises a bath of molten Sn 5, and guide means for the wire including pins 6, 7 and a pivoted member 9. The wire moves along a straight path over pin 6, through a hole 10 in member 9, over pin 7 and on to a winding device (not shown). When a short portion is to be tinned, the winding device is stopped, the jack 15 is actuated and the member 9 moves to the position shown, such that the length of wire between the hole 10 and the surface of the bath 5 is tinned. The member is then raised and the winding continued. In the tinning process, the enamel coating is destroyed.
