Abstract
1505435 Conveying liquid metals electromagnetically AEG-ELOTHERM GmbH 8 Sept 1976 [10 Sept 1975] 37267/76 Heading H2A In an arrangement for conveying liquid metal 2 along and up an inclined trough 5, an electromagnetic field travelling in the direction 31 is generated, e.g. by a winding 14, for moving liquid metal up the trough, and for a predetermined period after first switching on this field a further field travelling in the opposite direction 32 is generated, e.g. by a winding 15, for applying a retarding force to the liquid metal near the top of the trough; spurting of the liquid metal out of the top end of the trough on first activating the apparatus can thus be avoided.
