Abstract
1412131 Photographic mordant layers ILFORD Ltd 16 Nov 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 44793/72 Heading G2C Photographic material, which may be a lightsensitive silver halide material or an imagereceiving material for a dye diffusion process, contains a hydrophilic colloid layer containing as a mordant a quaternary salt of a vinyl pyridine/ gelatine graft copolymer. The hydrophilic colloid layer may also contain a dye or an optical brightening agent attached to the mordant and may be a filter or anti-halation layer. The copolymer may be one formed by polymerization of 4-vinyl-pyridine in the presence of gelatine followed by reaction of the graft copolymer with methyl iodide or dimethyl sulphate.
