Abstract

1411318 Wrapping pallet loads HOLMEK AS 25 Oct 1973 [30 Oct 1972] 49779/73 Heading B8C An apparatus for wrapping a pallet load 4 comprises a rotatable arm 5 for carrying a vertically and rotatably mounted first roll 8 of wrapping film in a circular path, a support for horizontally supporting a second roll 10 of wrapping film, and a cutting means 11 for severing a length of film fed from the second roll 10. In operation the pallet load is encircled by a length of film from the first roll 8 and then a length of film from the second roll is laid on top of the pallet load. The length of film from the first roll 8 may be separated by cutting means associated with the arm 5 which may be rotated through one or two revolutions by a motor 6. The wrapping films are of shrinkable plastics material and after the lengths of film have been spot welded, as for example at 14, the wrapped pallet load is passed into a shrink tunnel or chamber.
