Abstract

1410929 Tamper-indicating closures ALCA SA 15 Dec 1972 [15 Dec 1971 15 Dec 1972] 57985/72 Heading B8T A thermoplastic tamper-indicating container stopper has a body 1 and a finger loop or ring 4 connected to the body 1 at two points 2, 3 with a frangible bar 5 joining the body and the loop, which bar 5 fractures on opening the container. Another embodiment Fig. 2 (not shown) shows the ring to be W-shaped with frangible bars (7) (a) joining the loops of the ring to each other and to the stopper body. The portion of the loop relative to the stopper may be varied. A further embodiment Fig. 7 (not shown) has the stopper skirt (21) integral with a pull-ring (22) and a joining member (23). Two frangible diaphragms (24) link ring (22) to the bottom edge of skirt (21), and both diaphragms have lines of weakness (26) to facilitate tearing on opening the container.
