1409988 Electrolytic water treatment; cathodic protection INGENIEURSBUREAU J C VAN DER VELDE-HENNING FRANZEN BV 4 Feb 1974 [6 Feb 1973] 04979/74 Headings C7B and C7E For electrolytic water treatment or cathodic protection of objects, erosion of the connection between a current supply conductor 9, e.g. connected to supply cable 8 via member 7 on supporting structure 2, and one or more anodes 3 is prevented by a surrounding cap 11, closed at the upper end and at least partly open at the lower end, so as to trap air or an air/gas mixture between the closed end and the liquid level. The cap may be made from insulating material and supported by an annular disc 10 provided with a sleeve 12. The anodes e.g. of Al, Fe or Cu may be separated by cathode plates 5 secured to the structure 2 within metal tube 6 serving as cathode and surroundihg water pump 1.
