Abstract

1409347 Coated paper TH GOLDSCHMIDT AG 12 July 1973 [12 July 1972] 33368/73 Heading B2E Rough-surfaced paper is coloured by a process in which the paper is serially, but in any desired sequence, coloured by means of a magnet roll system and printed by means of a copper intaglio printing or flexo relief printing system. In the process described paper is guided through a magnet roll system consisting of a rubber-covered magnet cylinder, a roller scraper and a fluted colouring foller running through a trough of colouring medium. The roller scraper is provided with colouring agent by means of the fluted roller and a bead of colouring material forms in the paper and roller scraper. The colouring medium is pressed by the roller scraper on to and into the paper. After drying the paper is passed over reversing rollers through an intaglio printing system which is equipped with a screen roller for plain printing. The screen roller runs in a trough containing colouring agent which is scraped off by a scraper and the colouring agent is transferred to the paper by a pressing roller and the screen roller.
