1526271 Inking BENNETT-DEAN DESIGN Ltd 4 May 1976 [7 May 1975] 19268/75 Heading B6C A printing machine comprises a sheet material transport cylinder 10 and at least one roller group having an engraved colour applying roller 14, and a flexible material covered roller 16 which can be rotated at different speeds relative to the roller 14 to vary the amount of colour applied to roller 14. Inking rollers 17 may also be engraved. Rollers 16 are rotated at a surface speed within 2% of that of rollers 14, and rollers 17 rotate substantially slower. Gear train apparatus for achieving this is described and each assembly of rollers 14, 16, 17 is movable with respect to transport cylinder 10.
