Abstract

1408856 Cleaning buildings J P MURPHY 29 April 1974 [30 April 1973] 18661/74 Heading A4F A system for cleaning piggeries, buildings, yards, &c., comprises a high pressure hydraulic main 1, at least one electric pump (not shown) with adjustable relief valve and adapted to supply at least 3 gallons of water per minute to the main at a pressure of at least 700 p.s.i., one or more outlet or outlets 2 in the main 1, and one or more clip-on coupling members 3 for connection to the outlet or outlets 2 and connected or each connected by a flexible amoured hose 4 to a manually operable valvecontrolled nozzle device 12. Water is discharged from the device 12 when a valve in a chamber 8 is opened by operation of a trigger 7. On closing the valve the back pressure opens the relief valve to return water from the pump or pumps to a supply sump. Isolating valves may be arranged along the main 1 and each have three settings in which (1) one or more outlet or outlets 2 is isolated from the pump or pumps (2) opening of the relief valve by back pressure is permitted, and (3) water is discarded to reduce the pressure in the main thereby actuating a pressure sensitive switch to stop the pump motor or motors.
