Abstract

140,828. Soc. Anon. Officine Elettro-Meccaniche. Aug. 3, 1918, [Convention date]. Regulating.-Relates to regulating- devices for hydraulic turbines wherein the nozzle 4 is fitted with a spear-valve 6 inside and a deflector 5 outside, both controlled by the speed governor. The stem of the valve 6 is secured to the piston 9 of a servo-motor fed according to the invention by a liquid pump 20, and is hollowed out to carry a rod 13 and a block 14, which, together with the deflector 5, is linked to a shaft 16 oscillated by the speed governor. When the speed governor shifts the deflector 5 to mask the turbine buckets, the rod 13 is simultaneously moved to the right and allows a spring-pressed valve 11 carried by the piston 9 to close, thereby preventing passage of the pressure liquid through the ducts 22. The piston 9 is thereupon moved slowly to the right, and the valve 6 closes the nozzle. When the defector is moved to unmask the buckets, the block 14 simultaneously opens the valve 6. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modificaticn wherein the valve 11 is disposed outside the servomotor casing, and the servo-motor is fed from the water supply to the nozzle. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
