Abstract

1407820 Swivel seats with adjustable height JOHN FRENCH ENG Ltd 22 June 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 58651/72 Heading A4J In a swivel seat which is adjustable in height by a screw 26 and nut 15 swivelling of the seat without height adjustment is effected by providing a clutch between the screw 26 and the base of the seat and straining of the height adjustment device at its upper and lower limits is prevented by providing a friction coupling 31, 32, 33 and 34 between the screw and the base of the seat. The clutch comprises a vertically slidable locking pin 36 having a cranked end which may be brought into engagement with a lug 35 on the plate 32 of the coupling to prevent rotation of the screw when the seat is rotated.
