Abstract
1406576 Beam-splitters C REICHERT OPTISCHE WERKE AG 31 Oct 1973 [31 Oct 1972] 50696/73 Heading G2J A beam-splitter, e.g. for use in a vertical fluorescent microscope, comprises a glass substrate, refractive index 1.37 to 1.67, and eleven superimposed coatings arranged alternately, the odd numbers having refractive indices of 2.10 to 2.65, and the even of 1.25 to 1.50. Coating thicknesses are given. The high index coatings may be of titanium oxide or zinc sulphide and the low of cryolite, or of silicon dioxide if the other coating is titanium oxide. The beam-splitter transmits a majority of 45 degrees incident light in wavelengths 520 to 530 nm and 580 to 590 nm, and reflects a majority of 45 degrees incident light in wavelengths 400 to 500 nm and 540 to 570 nm.
