Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain desired reflectivity characteristics and antidazzle function and to improve durability to mechanical wear by selecting an optical film thickness at the value deviated by a prescribed quantity from (1/4)Xlambda0 (lambda0: central wavelength of incident light spectra). CONSTITUTION:This reflecting mirror is constituted of a transparent substrate 10 consisting of a glass substrate, an inside high-reflective index film 11 consisting of TiO2 (titanium oxide), a low-refractive index film 12 consisting of SiO2 (silicon dioxide) and an outside high-refractive index film 13 consisting of TiO2. A protective film 14 consisting of SiO2 functions optically as a 2nd low-refractive index film. The optical film thickness of at least one film among the 1st high-refractive index film 11, the low-refractive index film 12, the 2nd high-refractive index film 13 and the protective film 14 is selected at the value deviated by the prescribed quantity from (1/4)Xlambda0 (lambda0: the central wavelength of the incident light spectra) at this time. The excellent durability to the mechanicals wear as well as the desired reflectivity characteristics and antidazzle function are thereby obtd.
