Abstract

1405271 Ammonium phosphate fertilizer HELLENIC CHEMICAL PRODUCTS & FERTILIZER CO Ltd 3 Aug 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 36389/72 Heading C1A Ammonium phosphate fertilizer containing calcium sulphate (as inert diluent) is prepared by reacting phosphate rock (calcium phosphate) with phosphoric acid to produce calcium dihydrogen phosphate which is reacted with ammonium sulphate to produce ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and calcium sulphate, the remaining phosphoric acid being reacted with ammonia to produce ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and the calcium sulphate content of the fertilizer product (ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and calcium sulphate)- being controlled by the quantity of phosphate rock used in the reaction with the phosphoric acid.
