Abstract

1404517 Duplex stainless steel BOFORS AB 24 April 1973 [24 April 1972] 19418/73 Heading C7A An age hardened corrosion resistant duplex steel having an austenite content of 10%-35% by volume and of composition by weight Balance iron and impurities Al 0.1-2 N maximum value 0.15 the sum of the atomic percentages of Nb, Ti, Ta and Zr being greater than or equal to the sum of the atomic percentages of C and N. The steel may be heat-treated by solution treatment at 1,000‹C for one hour, water cooled and aged for one hour at 575‹C or 600‹C and may be used for the fabrication of centrifugal separators, boat motor drive shafts, pump rods, spindles, mixing and stirring apparatus which are subjected to corrosive conditions particularly involving hot chloride solutions.
